We have another episode FULL of valuable information for the WLS community. We always love sitting down with Dr. Betsy Dovec, Bariatric Surgeon, and being blown away each time. Today is no exception. In this episode, we discuss all things related to sleep as bariatric patients.
Dr. Dovec starts out putting us on the spot by asking how well we sleep (or in Kellie’s case, don’t sleep). She recaps the four pillars of health and wellbeing after WLS. She then goes into great detail about lack of sleep and how it can undo, or even reverse, all the hard work we put in as bariatric patients.
She lays out some hard truths and facts to educate us on the importance of sleep and how it assists us with healing and weight loss. We all know a good night’s sleep is essential, but how often do we heed the advice of professionals? Dr. D throws down a challenge for us to track our sleep and weight loss for one month and see if we have better results after making sleep a priority.
